The Master in Public Administration (M.P.A.) is a two-year program for students with professional experience who have taken graduate-level courses and may have degrees in business administration, economics, or engineering. Students develop the specialized skills and informed perspectives needed to be effective leaders in solving public problems. MPA graduates are in positions that have public impact—in government, alternative energy firms, global development banks, nongovernmental organizations, multinational financial institutions, and leading strategic consulting firms.

The Mid-Career Master in Public Administration (M.C./M.P.A.) is a one-year program for accomplished professionals to strengthen their skills, develop new ones, redefine their career goals, and expand their networks. The flexible curriculum gives students the freedom to pursue intellectual and professional interests in specialized fields. The Edward S. Mason Fellows are a cohort within the MC/MPA Program who are professionals from transitional economy, developing, or newly industrialized countries. MC/MPA graduates have become influential changemakers as senior-level government officials, central bank governors, military leaders, chief executives, and elected officials at all levels.
